Mr Maré holds right of appearance in the High Court in terms of Section 4(2) of Act 62 of 1995.

Litigation in the South African High Court as well as in the Magistrate Court on commercial actions, private actions and various types of motions.

Legal field of experience includes commercial, family, insolvency, contracts, general disputes.  Gerhard Maré and Associates was recorded in the South African Law Reports on two occasions - both cases as Attorney for the successful party.


Gerhard Maré and Associates has been nominated to act as Arbitrator by the South African Law Society, Northern Provinces and Western Cape, Cape of Good Hope, where contracts indicate that either Senior Council or Senior Attorney should be nominated as Arbitrator in disputes between parties.

We are regularly nominated by the Registrar of Deeds to act as Arbitrator in terms of the prescriptions of the Sectional Title Act in case of disputes.

We are also regularly requested to act as mediator and chair tribunal hearings in private disputes, i.e. chairing disputes referred to us by the NSPI (National Swimming pool Institute of South Africa) on building and construction matters.

We have acted as mediator for a company listed on Johannesburg Stock Exchange in respect of disputes in their HR department and national management level.
